Darryl Catts joins Send as non-exec director

25 April 2022 – Leading UK InsurTech Send Technology Solutions Ltd (Send) has announced the appointment of transformational insurance CIO Darryl Catts to its board as a non-executive director, to provide strategic guidance to support the continued growth of the business, particularly in the US.

A recognised leader in insurance technology, Catts spent ten years as the Global CIO at AXIS Insurance, two years as the CIO/CTO at US Assure, and previously spent over twelve years at Zurich North America, as a regional CIO for several business units, as well as other key leadership roles. His most recent role is CIO at the pet InsurTech company, Fetch by The Dodo.

Send has enjoyed rapid growth since launching in 2017 with an AI-enriched, API-enabled Underwriting Workbench. It has since accelerated its product development activities to create one system of record from submission to bind, through to policy administration, and claims. Catts’ deep expertise in creating and running transformative platforms will be instrumental in steering the team to deliver market leading digital solutions for the global commercial insurance market.

Commenting on his new role, Catts said:

“Send has a powerful yet simple vision; to transform commercial insurance processes. That ambition, and passion to reimagine a new way of working resonates with me.  There is a clear opportunity in the market for companies to work smarter, streamline operations and create a competitive edge, and with the most advanced Underwriting Workbench on the market, Send is clearly in a position to lead the charge. I’m excited to work with the team as it continues to grow.”

Send’s co-founder and CEO, Ben Huckel added:

“We pride ourselves on our knowledge and expertise in insurance, as well as technology. We understand the challenges our customers have day-to-day, as we’ve been there. With his extensive understanding of the insurance lifecycle and innovative approach to transformation, Darryl complements our business perfectly and we’re looking forward to benefiting from his knowledge and guidance as we take our business to the next level.”

In this non-executive role, Darryl will sit on the board of directors but will not undertake any of the day-to-day running of the business, neither will he be employed by Send.
