Send announces appointment of Chief Technology Officer

17 June 2024 - Leading InsurTech Send Technology Solutions Ltd (Send) has appointed former Just Eat and Innovation Group transformational leader Chris Newton as its Chief Technology Officer.

Chris has been at the forefront of technological evolution for the past twenty years, delivering rapid growth for scale-up businesses.  Chris joins Send from Immersive Labs, where he was the Vice President of Engineering, leading the team through two successful funding rounds for the B2B SaaS platform.  Before that, Chris was the Head of Engineering at Just Eat, where he led a globally distributed team of 120 people.

In his role Chris will spearhead Send’s technological vision, grow and develop a world-class team, and deliver the technology strategy to support the continued growth of the business.

As investment in pre-bind technologies continues to increase, Send will also ensure product strategy remains a top priority for the business by creating a new Chief Product Officer role.

Stepping into this role, co-founder Matt McGrillis will use his deep experience in commercial insurance to ensure continuous innovation and investment in Send’s flagship product, the Send Underwriting Workbench.

Send’s CEO Andy Moss commented;

“The industry now recognises the transformative potential of pre-bind technology to drive profitability and achieve deeper, more insightful underwriting decisions. We’re committed to investing in our Underwriting Workbench and the technology that powers it, to ensure it delivers the superior functionality, seamless integration, and user experience we know underwriters want.”

Matt McGrillis added,

“Having worked in commercial insurance for over a decade, I know first-hand the challenges underwriters face, and the type of product and functionality will resonate and make their jobs simpler yet more fulfilling. By bringing product strategy to the executive level, we’re signalling a clear, long-term commitment to the evolution of commercial and specialty insurance through our Underwriting Workbench”.

Chris Newton finished:

“Send is at an exciting stage in its growth journey. Having secured Series A funding and making significant progress with their market-leading product, I’m looking forward to using my experience to help Send enhance its technical capabilities and drive further innovation.”
